    About the Course

Discover the beauty of Hindustani classical singing. Learn ragas, voice control, and expressions, enhancing creativity, discipline, and emotional depth in music.

Hindustani vocal training begins with sur — accurate pitch — practised through long-held notes and simple scale patterns. From there students learn alankars, then ragas, each with its own set of notes, movement and mood. Breath control and voice culture run through every stage, and the discipline benefits any kind of singing, film playback included.

    Who this class suits

Suitable from around age six. Regular daily riyaz matters more than natural talent here, so committed beginners do well.

    Common Questions

I cannot sing in tune. Can I still learn?
Yes. Pitch accuracy is trained, not inborn. The first months of any beginner's course are devoted to exactly this.
How much daily practice is needed?
Twenty to thirty minutes of riyaz daily will move a student forward faster than two hours once a week.
